How thick are the magnets bro ? looks like you recessed them
Yeah they need to be sunk so the plate sits flat in it's recess.
3mm maybe, something like that. It was actually a fair bit of work sinking them into the plate. Because you need a flat bottomed hole so as not to bust through the other side as well as keep the magnets seated properly you can only go so far with a pointed drill bit. I then had to square off the bottom of the hole with a little stone grinding bit on the end of the dremmel.
Would an end mill work?
What you need is a set of Brad Point drill bits...
Nah I've got some of those. All good for drilling the body where you've got plenty of meat under the bottom of the hole but trying to make a hole for a 3 mm magnet in a 5mm control plate, the lead point in the bit would pierce right through. I like the router bit idea but I haven't got one the right diameter.
