Cheers Ben. To be honest I was a bit hesitant on how the neck colour was going to turn out as I have never dyed maple before. But after 4 passes of colortone & TruOil I was pleasantly suprised by the result, esp. after the application of the TO which really made the color come to life.
Andrew really keen to see how this looks completed as looks stunning so far.

Hurry up and finish this and get it into GOTM!!
Stan, slight disaster so may miss this months GOTM but Im busy trying to rectify that! Note to fellow forumites, if you have a cat around the place keep them out of the workshop. I now have paw prints over the cap so have spent last few days wetsanding them out and rebuilding some more TO layers. Good news is that top is now super glossy even before a cut and polish. Frets have been recrowned. Waiting on a POT upgrade and bone nut in post. Now also have in my possession a set of Tonerider Rocksong humbuckers and chrome surrounds. Once the moons align this should come together very quickly!
Confirms my long held theory that SG's are chick magnets.
This baby is also obviously a GAS magnet - well done.
That's pretty much exactly what I'm aiming to achieve with that flame, look's frickin spectacular man!!
My understanding was that tung oil could get you a place in a coffin, which is why most people prefer tru oil. But the coffin would be sent to the naughty room.
