I was contemplating that just the other day...
I received some inks in the mail today from Carrolls Woodcrafts, shame the black isn't ink black but green/black, but I decided to do some mixing and came up with a very slightly purplish grey. couple of little repairs to do where I'm camouflaging glue but I think the one coat on the top will be fine, I'll do another coat on the back and neck tomorrow. I put some on a scrap of pine and gave it a coat of TO and all seems stable, so that will be how I finish it. By going to this colour I get to use a set of gunmetal tuners I have and won't have to redrill for a Schaller bridge as I'll use a Gotoh charcoal coloured one

Should look good with the colour scheme mentioned. Nice simple cut on the headstock too.
I'm using TO as final finish, it has about 6 coats so far

Dude! That's got some menace about it. I'm reminded of steely grey seas, and darkened, roiling storm clouds.
it changes colour in diff light, I mixed geen/black, blue and red inks to get the colour, the back is almost black (added some cedar to the mix) but the reddish timber shows through in some light. The gunmetal fittings showed up this afternoon, should look cool :)
looks cool as Dedman, can't wait to see the gunmetal hardware on it. You must be happy I talked you into scratching solid paint !
hmmm........I dunno Wokka, it would be finished if I'd just painted it LOL
not really, only got the pots and stuff today :P
OK OK you were right
