Wow, it looks like you could swim in that guitar.
looks awesome Marze. I'd put another stain coat of blue before the intensifying coats
Agree with Woks.
Wow. Just wow. :)
Thats looking fantastic. A white pearl pick guard would finish the whole surf look
I saw that colour and this played in my head.

Dedman, that is the effect I was looking for 😄
Second base coat on the body and first intensifying coat and we have:

The yellow of the grain is still really prominent, but it adds to the ripple effect :-)
You can't see it the photo very well but there is a slight green tinge in some parts of the stain. I am assuming the colour of the wood is mixing with the blue from the stain. Again, I am pretty happy with this as it is adding to the water ripple effect.
After the second intensifying coat a week later we have:

The green tinge is now more visible in this photo.
Onto the head stock shaping ...
cool effect Marze, keep going with the coats try get some more depth in the blue
I wanted to do something different with the headstock when I started out, however I ended up with a shape pretty close to a standard Telecaster headstock.

I did have one concern with the holes drilled for the tuners. They are not all equally spaced but only 1-2 mm difference. They are also not aligned exactly in a row with one of the sticking up about 1 mm.

I decided that this would not be noticeable in the final product, so restrained myself from plugging the holes and redrilling. The perfectionist inside me is screaming but, we will have to live with that. I hope it does not affect the setup of the guitar and tuning later down the track.
Next was to cut out the shape, so out came the jigsaw and we have a rough shape to work with now.

headstock shape looks good Marze,
don't worry doubt the tuner alignment will be noticeable when all the tuning heads are at different positions
