Haha, Rust-oleum Mike. Has a nice ring to it!
Glad it worked out for ya west! It's really great stuff and I'm stoked with how mine turned out. When I get it back from my setup I'm having done to it, I'll post some pictures.
Thanks pablo! Yeah I'm really pleased with the colour. Didn't expect it to work as well as it did!
And cheers wokka, I'd definitely recommend doing it! I'm going to try a red ink stain on whatever my next kit is I reckon!

that blue has come up a treat, cant wait to see it with some clear on.

SO quick update. Applied a few coats of clear gloss to the body over the last couple of days.
Messed up one of the coats, so had to sand it back, re-ink the guitar and coat again. It's come out pretty freaking awesome I reckon. Mucked up a spot on the back, so I have to sand that back and spray again, but otherwise, think it's coming out awesome!
Here's a picture of a mock build thus far.

Bloody hell, Mike. That thing is gorgeous. I have a real soft spot for blue guitars and that is way up there with them.

Sweet colour , looks great

Phwoar! That thing is HOT!
I'm with Lawry, can't go wrong with a sexy blue guitar. ;)
Out of interest, what are you using for your clear coats?

Goddam Mike that colour is freekin' insane. It almost looks like lightning coming out of the back heading towards the tailpiece, stunning job man!

Cheers everyone for the kind words!
West, it's white night crystal clear acrylic. Roughly $13 a can from Bunnings. Works a treat when you apply it properly haha.
I've found that if you warm up some water in a bucket (or in my case a cake mixing bowl) and leave the can in there for a bit to warm up, it sprays much more evenly and adheres better. Was a little trick I learnt from the Stew Mac help section haha.
I did my second to last coat last night. Few little bits that just need touching in and the body will be complete!!!
I also used last night to wire up the pots ready for installation, engrave the neck plate, and place my order on a decal for the headstock. Hoping my bridge and jack arrive this week so I can have the body assembled at the very least by the end of the week.
Heading up to my parent's place today so dad can give me a hand cutting the headstock to shape. I don't have the required tools to do so, and I'm awful at cutting things, so going to handball that over to dad haha.
Overall, stoked with how it's turning out!
