Looking good Tim. Is this using the timbermate and superglue technique?
looks very cool Tim, must be easier to fill the routed area rather than cut MOP inlay
interesting...
Yep trailing the timber mate superglue idea
SO much easier , will be interesting to see what its longevity is like
will be a good test Tim especially with a fretless, should be ok if you pile several layers of thin superglue on the fingerboard
excellent result so far :)
OK the saga of the 12th fret inlay is drawing to a close.
After the first lay down of the inlay then topping with super glub
sanding to a sexy smoothness .
I applied my black oil dye to the fret board.
only to get major leaching into the inlay.
so much so that half of it wasn't even visible :(
Anyways let things dry sand the board back again.
after some thought scrapped back the inlay to allow a decent layer of superglub
to sit over the inlay.
Sanded, applied oil dye.
On a whole it has worked, still looks abit "not right" BUT I am happy with the overall look.
gives it an antique kinda look.
Hey Tim, that looks really cool. Looks like a part of the fretboard, rather than a "stuck in" inlay.
