looking great Shazz,
good advice DB, Shazz I'd clean up the binding now
Ok sweet! I was going to do it after the intensifying coat but will do now and after the intensifying coats :). Thanks DB & wokka
no worries Shazz, I find it's easier to clean the binding before each stain/intensifying coat, plus the binding will become nice and smooth and polished
great progress Shazz, this will come up very nicely
Thanks Stan, I'm still in love with it :)
So I've cleaned up the bindings and my goodness! It looks like a whole different guitar!!
Thanks again boys for the tip :) was pretty easy to get off! Just so many curves haha especially in the 'f' holes!

Just decided to see what my guitars future entails... I thinks it's gunna be a mean looking axe! Also stoked with the colour matching with the headstock at this point. I haven't done the intensifying coats so may change in the future, but considering the different timbers used and their different properties, I think I've done well.

That looks absolutely awesome!
Nice work Shazz. Big improvement with clean binding
Wow thats looking awsome Shaz
Thanks Jarrod!
Great work Shazz! No wonder you are in love. She is an absolute beauty!!
You've done a great job there Shazz, awesome axe. I've also enjoyed your vid diaries. Good stuff.
Thanks Guys!! Has been a great project! I'm glad I've remembered to video most of the work I've put into it :)
Done the first intensifying coat on face and side and gee wiz! Love the tone that is coming out!! DB seriously can't speak highly enough of Dingotone! It is amazing!

Great stuff Shazz.
Just watched the vid, love the fast motion section... Made it look like you were bustin out some crazy moves :p
Haha I like doing the time lapse so I don't bore everyone :p
I'm thinking at the end of the project, I will get all the time lapse parts and make 1 big video of the whole project from start to finish :)
So I've been a bit quiet lately! It's been a bit damp here on the NSW south coast! I'm finally up to applying the clear finish! I'm super stoked with the stain and the tone that has come through! Can't wait to start on the electronics pretty soon! In my vids you may see my husband as he's a lot better with a soldering iron then I am. Hopefully the beast will be done around Christmas when I have some time off work to put the attention needed into it!
Hi ShazzRandom, hope it turns out well, would love to see a pic of the finished guitar.
If it's any consolation, we're getting a huge downpour over here in Darwin as I type this, it's great cause it has been very hot lately and it's cooling things down alot.
Thanks Dr! As I'm using the dingo tone it doesn't have any drying agents so I can't rush the process. I'm happy that I've taken my time though, it has come up a treat!
It must be nice to be cool up there for a while!
So this is the final colour on the back! I think I matched pretty well in the end :) I have a Coke can next to the body to give an idea of true colour!
I'm super stoked and can't wait to finish the beast! Attachment 6553
Thank you, that's the burst effect I was going for. I'm glad it shows :) I love the grain!
looking good Shazz, you are doing a great job
Nice job Shazz. Yes, the grain does look spectacular. Good to have the coke can next to the build as a reference to the colour which btw has come up a treat. Almost there!
love the colour and grain on the back Shazz, well done
Hi Shazz, that colour looks great, I'm also using the Karijini Red.
So how many coats do you think you used on the outer part on the front face?
Hi John C,
I went back to the start of this diary and Shazz used Uluru red, not Karijini red.
I'd apply a couple coats and see how yours looks. Post some pics on your build diary and we can all comment
Thanks boys! I'm going for more the tortoise then the heir finish!
The Coke can was the perfect reference of colour as everyone knows that colour!!
Yeah I very much got the rockabilly vibes from it :) not just cause of the style but the colour also!
This axe is gunna be shcweeeet as!
I could see Chris Isaak playing Blue Hotel on this baby :)
BTW, how would you feel about us using your build as the colour sample on the Dingotone page?
Thanks DB, it's come up an absolute treat! I would be totally honoured!! Thank you!!
I forwarded the pics you sent me to Adam..
Now all I have to do is get my Miss Fe to email him in order to scare him into posting them on the DT page :p
Haha love it! Don't spook him too much!
