I miscalculated some parts that I need for the body so while waiting for them to arrive I thought I would do a bit on the neck.
I removed the plastic nut, leveled and dressed the frets. I will cut a new bone nut when the guitar has been assembled.
Shaped the headstock. I was going to go with the classic Gibson “open book” style, but decided to go for something plain and simple.

This is the Pre-amp that I will be using. But no matter how I position it, it is too big to fit inside the guitar.

So it’s gone! I have already bought a 9v battery holder and routed a remote position for it. I am waiting on some mini connectors to arrive from China so I can connect the battery to the Pre-amp then I can continue with the wiring.
I've stalled for as long as I can but I can't put off gluing the body together, so that will be my next job.
OK, I think I have pre-empted all scenarios so I think I am ready to glue the 3 piece body together.
Here are the 3 pieces, all routed and ready to be glued.

This is how they will be sandwiched together:
Front (inside). The small “tear drop” cut you can see about half way down the body is the access hole to feed the Piezo cable through the top of the guitar to the bridge.

Hopefully this is how the final body will look. The Pre-amp cover will be held in place by magnets as I will need easy access to check the low battery light etc.

It’s gluing time!
I just laid a couple of pieces of thin ply over the body so as not to leave clamp marks on the soft pine. Unlike my first pine guitar I have put some locating pins in the 3 pieces to stop them from “squirming” around under clamping pressure while gluing.

coming along really well Westie07, you have done well for everything to fit and planned all the channels well. When the 3 pieces of the body are glued together will you be able to remove the pre-amp or will it be locked in position ?

Hopefully I have designed everything to be easily removed. I will have connectors on all the wiring so that they can be pulled apart, just in case I need to dismantle everything.
I will be going string-thru-body so had to keep the area below the bridge clear of routes. I have also left a void in the middle (plywood) section to get access to the output wiring in case I try and add a second volume pot.
