good stuff Ponch, good to have you back on the airwaves, hope you kept the roads safe over the festive season !
fretless bass are the go for sure, since I've had a DB built fretless jazz bass from xmas last year they are so much fun to play and sound ultra cool

Cheers Woks, good to be back I nearly had to check into the shrink due to severe GAS withdrawal symptoms!

I bet Ponch ! hope 2016 brings some nice builds
Think this year you should do a Chips tribute axe haha

When I saw the butter knife image I thought you were going to cut up the handle to make a nut.
-
What a good idea! It needs a new nut!

Nice work on the frets Andrew! The butter knife is a sorely underrated tool IMO. Great to see this build back in progress, and looking forward to reading about many more in 2016.
cheers,
Gav.

Long time no update..
Tried some veneer in the fret slots but a but of a disaster as I could not cut out the slots flat enough. Maple dust and superglue to the rescue!
Fret slots cleaned out with hacksaw, neck straightened.

Then maple dust/superglue filler.
Once dry I'll attack with some sand paper and 12inch radius block.

Hope so lol. I'll also use superglue as a finish on the fretboard. Another mad scientist experiment
