Bloody hell. That's nice.
well done Andrew did you say thats your first burst ? looks excellent. 3 colours looks so much better than 2
Gosh that looks nice Andrew. This is going to be a gorgeous guitar.
Brilliant burst Andrew!
cheers wokka, yes first burst but not sure if I could ever recreate the technique! I basically worked from the centre to binding with yellow, red, mahogany and black, blending each new edge as I went (does that make sense?). That way some of the blending happened through layering. I also wiped a wet cloth over the top before commencing.
very, very cool Andrew!
looks nice, very classic and very well done
Burst looks amazing Andrew! Great job. Will really pop once the oil soaks in. This is shaping up to be a classic.
cheers,
Gav.
Cheers everyone. Gav, from memory you mentioned in your ash lp that colortone and tru oil made a good combo.. you were right there!
Some more progress, have started dyeing the side and backs. One coat red, 2x red mahogany, 1x black. I'll give this one more black then naughty oil it off. Same treatment for neck.
