Damn, that's nice. Yellow is an underrated colour IMHO. Great stuff. And fantastic to see the DC finished PK. Last month was fender month, looks like this month is gibbos turn.
love the ES Csim, you really nailed the yellow stain and the gloss finish looks excellent. Must be an axe you are very proud of. Wonder what other gems will be entered this month
csim, this is a fantastic ES - well done. Love the yellow colour with gold hardware, very smart. How does she play?
Hey Andrew, it's a great guitar to play.
Tone-wise it provides a rich, and clear clean tone and an overdriven sound that has never sounded harsh or out of control (tonerider!). I can also easily control a very tonal feedback sound if necessary. Have had jamming friends just stare at it for minutes on end (in a good way).
I don't have any problem with the neck profile, can happily play for hours, and there were no sharp frets need attention straight out of the box. I also like either the weight, or maybe its the weight distribution of this large hollow guitar, feels very light when standing playing for hours.
The colour is actually just multiple coats of shellac, with no other stain.
Cism, your 335 is a beauty, well done
That's one superb axe csim, absolutely top effort man!
I'd love to hear a little demo.
Nice one guys! Loving the gloss you got csim.
I'll try get one in as soon as I'm back in aus, but for now I'll have another jager in the Austrian Alps. Life sucks sometimes!
hi guys,
Here is my entry for February GOTM.
It's my Ash LPA-1, finished in Colortone dye and Tru-Oil and with the grain filled with walnut Timbermate. The headstock logo is an Andy special, and the wiring is Vintage LP, with a coil tap on each humbucker. The coil tap is enabled via a push-pull on each volume pot. The pickups are Entwistle HDNs, and I've also swapped out the stock caps for orange drops, and the output jack and switch for switchcraft.
I'm pretty happy with how she has turned out.
cheers,
Gav.
An absolute stunner Gav, where do you start with this instrument? The figure, that burst, the hardware choices, that burst!!
Did I mention that burst? Top effort mate:-)
