@Pabs, @Fretty - thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like it's unanimous. @Fretty - yeah it's 'Red Tortoiseshell' which is much lighter than the traditional tortoiseshell colour.
cheers,
Gav.
I concur, the left is the goods. To my eye (which requires prescription lenses!), the left is a lot more focused than the right, and thus matches the clear black grain, which is nice and crisp.
Great colours, though, and beautiful wood finish Gav!
Thanks @GGP :)!
cheers,
Gav.
so Gav you got any upgrades planned for this build pups/electronics etc ? I got an ash tele getting closer to assembly and not sure what pups to put in it
Nah, @Woks I was just planning on chucking the stock pickups in. I have some GFS 62 vintage pups in my cupboard for another build, but the bridge pickup route is a little too small for it. I didn't enlarge it before I started, so I think I'll just leave it with the stock electrics.
my *next* ash tele might get the works ;) LOL.
cheers,
Gav.
fair enough Gav, I might try a set of the toneriders are pretty good value. The stock pups still sound pretty good I reckon
Hmm toneriders. Would that require a change to the route do you think?? You've made my GAS flare up Woks... ;)
Let me know how you go and I might grab myself a set as well..
cheers,
Gav.
no worries Gav, for $95 for the pair can't go wrong. Might be a week or so before I order them and try them out for size - got too many projects on now. I can't remember if I checked the bridge pup location and made sure the bridge is in the correct position. Hopefully won't require any routing
Ive just installed some of these Toneriders into an old MIM tele with a Fender 'modern' tele wiring and treble bleed upgrade, sound great.
