Clear acrylic purchased, 1st coat will go on tomorrow
Damn this thing is stubborn, got a run in the clear coat today so will have to wait for it to dry totally sand back that area and redo the black & clear coats.
F#*K it
bugger DK. Doubt you will need to sand through the clear. Make sure it's fully cured. Careful sanding and you should be able to remove the run.
Yep, I'll give it a few days and then go back to the undercoat and bring it back up.
As Murphy would dictate it's naturally in a most visible position on the top edge of what would be the top horn if it were a Strat or similar double cut.
Given that I have the new pups on the way for The Count I've taken the opportunity to pull the neck off it for a bit of TLC so have both it and the Tuff Dog neck to entertain me for a few days anyway so not wasted days.
I went over to my mates place yesterday for a coffee & BS session to review what we have recorded so far and came away with another 9 tracks to start laying down the backings for.
wow DK you got plenty to go on with while the acrylic cures. I've been able to sand runs from the first clear coats pretty easily, just try not to sand through to the stain coats or take much stain off and it will be fine.
Maybe it's because you called it the tuff dog axe it's not cooperating ! haha
I hate runs. Whilst vertical spraying is easier, I do tend to spray the large surfaces when the body is horizontal. It slows you down, but runs are far less common as a result. Keep going Dave, you'll get there and it will all look great.
I'll get there in the end I have no fear of that, I was hoping to get the clear on the back and sides sorted today so I could break out the airbrush over the weekend to do the black burst band on the top.
No harm done just a delay accompanied by a multi megaton burst of Tourettes
