Sadly as an experiment I tried the same bridge on my PRS SE245 and got a similar result. Both my guitars currently sport the fixed intonation bridges and the adjustable bridge sits in my parts box...

Doing some final rounds to get scale length, neck angle and ensure I don't run into the same issues. With the bridge right on the deck, the strings touch the 24th fret, so I've got plenty of clearance to bring it up. The pics are with the bridge sitting about 2mm off the deck and that gives me less than 1mm at the 24th fret. Plenty of room to adjust when setting up.

I dug my bridge out of the box and it looks different to yours. A browse of Ebay sellers quickly confirmed that I have a "Bad Ass" adjustable wrap around bridge which at its highest point is 16mm tall for the D an G strings and a mountainous 14.75mm tall for the two E strings. Add a touch of height adjustment just so the bridge is slightly off the deck and it all goes wrong very fast.

Just measured my PRS SE245 with the original bridge fitted and adjusted and it turns out that in a pinch I could just use this 'Bad Ass' bridge though it definitely would be hard down on the deck. Would look odd too as the PRS machine heads are chrome and the Bad Ass bridge is Gold...

Based off your build diary, I had a feeling you may have got these confused, but you had me a little paranoid... I did plan to do these final checks again before finishing and setting the neck. I'm glad I did. Always pays to triple check these things before mating them for life.

Something that's not visible in my build diary is how I ensured that the neck is/was in the correct place when I set it...

When dry I found the correct location for the nut and 12th fret relative to the bridge. I then created a block spacer (in my case a tiny piece of plywood) to fit in the gap between the neck tongue and the back of the first PU cavity. Essentially I extended the neck tongue to the back of the hole.

After glueing the spacer block in place in the PU hole I could then be sure the neck would be in the correct place when I set it eliminating the need to do bridge to 12th fret measurements during the actual neck setting process.

Great tip thanks Marcel. I was thinking along the same lines, however it didn't dawn on me to do this prior to setting. The heel on my neck unfortunately isn't a flush 90° angle, so it will take some creativity to get the spacer shaped correctly.

Fortunately, for me the scale length is perfect when I align the end of the fretboard with the neck side of the pickup rout. So I already have a good marker [emoji3]

Neither was mine. I took the plunge and squared off the end of the neck tongue, which gave me a nice even 7mm gap all the way across that the ply snugly filled.

When I set the neck the excess glue 'solidified' the tiny chunk of ply.... In my axe the neck is pretty damn solid in the body now....

Thanks Bud! Yep, just a CF wrap. Was playing around with a few scraps I had leftover. Doesn't look too bad, but I'll have to see what it looks like when fully assembled.

Oh yes I'll probly be using those methods too, we will see. Oxygen tubing works well [emoji3] scissor clamps really help with locating the switches and also work well for a soldering helping hand

Only buggered up the colour of 2 wires (will be able to see them obviously thru the f holes. Maybe I will colour them or wrap some black tape around them. And somehow managed a few nicks in the finish around the switches although I was being super careful and had it protected. Oh well, it was never going to be a showroom guitar anyways (many many other small imperfections / boo boos). Just a decent player that looks good - from a distance [emoji3] No Bette Midler jokes please.

After, bro. Thanks . Finished the elecs last night and neck set today. Good times. Was pretty stoked I got the elecs in without anything going bad. I did have to trouble shoot once, when when the treble bleed circuit was touching ground. I pressed it up into wrong spot when locating the pot. Sorted that out quick tho.

Neck mated for life. Pups installed. Strap buttons on. TRC on. Knobs in place. Fret gunk cleaned. Now she looks like a guitar!

Next on the list is to wax fretboard, string up and sand down the sides of the tusq nut to fit, adjust pickup height, check neck relief and see how she plays. I'll probly then string up with proper strings to intonate.

Also waiting for my guitar family domed output Jack cover thing to arrive. Should look a bit cleaner than stock one. Just been sitting in customs for ages, cleared now but won't arrive till post Xmas. Very impressed with the speed of that order, just AusPost letting me down...They got it out the door and in the country super quick. Looks good. What sort of finish did you use? Spray can, wipe on PU, oil? And what did you use to polish?

I'm currently using a wipe on poly on my build. Haven't put on a coat for a few weeks though even though I'm no where near finished. I'm finding it hard to get a smooth finish. The warmer weather now might help though.

Aaaand she's finished. Intonated beautifly and holding tune like a boss. Although I do feel it's more of a he because my 3.5 yr old daughter named it "Browny Boy" ever since it got stained.

Feels lovely to play and sounds great. Super happy I decided to add the series/parallel switches to vary up the sonic options. The extra little bits of effort put in, like rounding off the square edges of the fretboard etc., really pay off on making it feel great under the hands. I'll throw up an audio demo in the next little while. And I'll put up a few more extra photos as a gallery too soon.

Thanks all for your help and guidance along the way. There will be plenty more questions coming your way, don't worry about that.

Final shots look great BD. Can you do a quick summary of what is stock and what is upgraded. I went hunting through the Build diary and couldn't find what pups you ended up using and how the electrickery works.
Mine's taking ages, but I think its one of those builds that needs time put in.
