I really like the grain highlights on that body. should look even better with your purple colour scheme laid on to it!

Looking good so far.
Too much grain for basswood and probably Alder or more likely Paulownia as per these body samples found on the web...

Paulownia is supposed to be a very softwood and that may also explain why it is much lighter in weight too.
It "fluffs up" quite a bit by that i mean that even though it's ridicilously smooth sanded to 600 gritt after applyibg tye watery stain to it some of the wood fibers stand up so now it has a rough feel again.Quote:

3 coats of "Joe's vintage amber blend" and the neck is to my liking will start tru oiling after i put the custom inlays in material should arrive in the coming days.

Coming along well Joe. With the fret dot markers get some similar color saw dust to the fingerboard, mix with CA glue and fill in the gaps. Let it dry and sand off. Try going over the burst edge with black again. Looking at the earlier burst pic you need a darker black stain. It looks grey

ok she's wired up and roughly dialle din gonna wait for the neck to settle before i do anything else but all the electrics are working sound is good. One little mistake is that the pickup selector is upside down, but it is wired correctly so not that big of an issue.
