could do Tony but would mean a narrower headstock. I got heaps of veneer so I'll start again, I've done enough of them it doesn't take that long to glue them on

love the Tele clock Wokks, where do you get the movements from?
cheers Stan, you mean the clock mechanism/hands and numbers ? I got them on ebay a while ago, don't think they were very expensive.
Here's a pic of the route for the mechanism, I didn't have a template so used a pickup template and rotated it, not the cleanest cavity but hey its at the back you don't see it
cool stuff wokks
The clock idea is always an option for those "irretrievable errors".
:)
for sure Colin,
Its such a good looking clock I will be sad to see it relocated to DB's man cave haha
got a second stain coat on, amber on the top and burning sun back and sides. Also got some work on the neck - forgot to take photos. Got headstock veneer on and burning sun on the neck to match the body.
Here's how the top looks. Few more days curing and I'll start clear coats
Looks amazing man my next build will be a scratch build.
cheers Ben. So much more rewarding and challenging a scratch build. I didn't get a shot of the back but its nice and orange !
got some more work done over the weekend. Got 3rd coat of naughty oil on Friday and it's soaking in nicely.
So thought it was time for a mock build. Put the Tonerider zebra rocksongs in the pup surrounds and this is how it's looking.
for the mock build the standard tuners are in the headstock. I've got Gotoh tuners to put on
looking slick wokka, the zebra pups look just right
Yeaaaaaaaah Boi!
Only thing I would change is that I would lose the rhythm/ treble plate on the switch.
Cheers Stan and DB. I'll have a look DB at losing the switch cover. I got a bit of tear out so will have to see if a washer covers the filler. Stupid me drilled the switch hole from below!
got more work done on this build. Got 5th coat of naughty oil. Thinking this should be enough. Got the neck fret levelled and drilled the neck holes.
couple more pics with the truss rod cover
what are the two poor decisions Gav ? tear out on the switch hole and using the switch cover?
haha funny man you are Gav !
been a productive weekend, got this build assembled and making noise, sure I got a dud switch as I can only get the bridge pup working. Will plug it in soon for a test
some more pics. That tele shaped object with primer next to is a beer bottle lamp shade, chrome paint on next
been a longish build but happy with the results. If you don't like a heavy axe this aint for you. Hoping those rocksongs will have a good sustain. Vids to follow once I get it set up and a new switch ordered.
EDIT apologies why the images are changing orientation when zoomed, not sure why that is
Bout time ya finished this beast, ya slacka! :)
You know the deal DB heaps of other projects and new projects and getting psyched up for push pull pot wiring haha
I just plugged it into the quad at a decent volume and the sustain is pretty good
Finally it is done! Should have shizloads of sustain, definitely looks the biz!
Cheers Pest, you know I have multeye projects on the go and Popeye keeps coming up with new projects dot com haha
That looks sweet Wokks. Digging the colour and Rock songs are a sweet pick up bro with a very bluesy tone. Should compliment the timber nicely.
Awesome Woks! Looks great mate :-)
haha that's it Pest.
Here's a short video I recorded lastnight, haven't touched the setup but a demo of how the bridge pup sounds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBID...ature=youtu.be
Gota be happy with that Wokks.
cheers Jrod, yeah pretty happy with it, you can certainly feel the weight of the marri slab !
Well done in getting this completed. Sounds and looks awesome
cheers Ponch, takes about 2-3 months to build a scratch body when you got about 5 other projects on the go
You need more guitars Wokka!
@ Jrod, yes its comfy to play sitting down. Would be okay to use a strap for half an hour or so
@ Fretty the axes in the video background are only part of the collection
