More fantastic entries, great work every one.
beautiful strat DK, really love that timber pickguard and the colours.
Love the IB5 Idklin, the caps on these models now makes the edge really stand out when done in a lighter colour as you have done. Pretty amazing grain on the cap !
This is shaping up to be a very cool month of entries !
OK - Here we go. First completed guitar. Swapped the nut for a bone nut. All else is standard. Finished with Dingotone Colourless finish and a beeswax furniture polish.

Hi, finished my LP and thought I would enter into the GOTM, hope you like it, I am very happy with the result seeing though it was my first kit.
Standard wiring, fully shielded and gold hardware upgrade from PBG with a custom rosewood truss Todd cover and some i-Ching lucky coins as machine head washers. The timber top is too nice to cover with a pick guard so leaving it off. My mate is a spray painter in a hot rod shop and he guided me through the 15 plus coats of clear lacquer and hours of sanding, polishing and finishing using 3 levels of high tech polishing compounds...the result is stunning, specially in good light, thanks Scotty! Not much light when the pics were taken, hope it shows up ok.
Cheers
Daveyson
...did I mention it sounds and plays great after some simple setup!
Sorry guys, got no idea why it is turning all my portraits into landscape.
More pictures
Probably need to click on the image and magnify to get a decent look at this beast.
Cripes,
The selection this month is going to test the judges.
Well done one and all.
wow Scoop and Daveyson I missed these entries, both stunning builds well done !
Brilliant looking builds this month its going to be tough for judges once again
I'm not sure why I'm bothering entering this month but just for fun. This was another beta test for Dingotone butterscotch top & headstock and nullarbor ochre back/sides.
This was a fun build and a bit easier with the bolt on and these paulownia bodies are amazingly light, I reckon the body pretty well weighs as much as the neck, so anyone with a bad back this axe you will be able to play much easier for couple of hours.
Only mods were bone nut and truss rod cover. Now I got to find time to play the neck in !
here's few more close ups. Hard to capture this colour. Some nice subtle grain in the cap
here's pics of the back and headstock
Very nice Wokka. It's crazy how light paulownia is. Top quality, as usual.
Very, very nice! How is the weight compared to a Strat?
That's a nice LP Wokka
and Daveyson, that spalt looks great!
This entry from Dr Jay, who had some issues posting the pics.
"My build is an FB kit. I substituted in DeVille Humbuckers from CB Gitty. The headstock decoration is from a cigar box and the switch housing is antique copper from a Flea market we attend. The red is a water based dye from a Wisconsin company. The gold Speed Knobs I got from Amazon. My daughter painted a message on the back. It plays very well and I am getting sounds out I was not getting on other instruments. Played through a Tube dDouble Twin I made at Chicago School of Guitar Making with some distortion with a Boss Metal Zone distortion pedal. It's awesome! Thanks for the kit and peace!"

I count 11 (Eleven) entries, is that right?
Geez, I might take a break from judging this month.
They're all amazing.
great FB Dr Jay, lots of work in this one
very nicely finished bass psalo
Awesome GOTM entries everyone and good luck judges in picking a winner! It was nearly 12 entries to judge but I cannot seem to move along finish curing times during the winter...
no one will know it's not cured mate, put it in!
Who'd want to be a judge this month . Good luck guys and the winner will be truly the best of the best .
What a stunning field of axes, a beautiful job by all. Poor judges.
Really cool builds, with some imaginative custom work.
I wish these kind of geetars ended up on stage and not just black strats and Pee basses.
Great work guys.
Apologies for the delay folks, a few Judges are MIA. We will have the results later tonight.
Ok, sorry again for the delay.

Great win mate - spalty LPs are always nice to see.
