Hey Jacob, Great work man - I'm not usually a green guitar man myself but you've certainly nailed it with this axe!
If this was your first build, the other "seasoned vets" around here better watch out! :D
Good work Jacob, you've got to be proud of this guitar. Great job with the green and head-stock shape. Looking forward to seeing your future builds!
Great entry Jacob, certainly deserves to be here
She looks amazing Jacob - great job! Love the colour with the black scratch plate. An axe to be proud of. Any chance of a sound demo? Well done!
cheers,
Gav.
Been really impressed with the standard of finishes on the guitars so far, this is great cause it gives me a benchmark standard to aim for in my builds, cheers.

thats a stunner Peter well done for a first build you nailed it. What is the bridge and pickups you used ? Would love to hear a sound demo. Is it the stock plastic nut ?
The nut is standard so are the pick ups the bridge I got from Ebay advertised has Gold Music Man OLP Style Bass bridge BB-MM4-G.
It's far better than the one you get in the kit because the saddles screws are longer. I was thinking of doing a sound demo maybe in a week or so. I've played it at a gig and was very impressed with it. So now it's going to be my main Bass. There is nothing better than playing something that you have made. Love Love Love it.
nice one Peter, so you must have got an extra pickup in your kit as they come with only one standard.
You're correct there's nothing more satisfying than playing an instrument that you built !
So if you have a 3 way switch what do the 4 control knobs do ?
You did a great job of the headstock logo too
stunning work Peter, you've done a great job. First build - wow
Great work Peter - I love this bass man! I would very much like to hear a sound demo. Great finish, great pickguard shape and great headsock. It's the complete package.
cheers,
Gav.
Here is my second build, an ES-2V

Woooow!! Thats classy.
wow Grant thats an absolute stunner, love the mods and the general classy look of this axe. How does it sound ? Presume they are stock pups ?
I am a judge this month and it started off being a pretty straight forward start to the month but now its going to be a tough one to pick a winner !
Wokka, good luck in judging this month! A tough job indeed with the quality of builds. All worthy contestants.
cheers Andrew, I can see it being a task every month for the moderators. Tim will be judging too. There will probably only be about 1.5 points between all the entries, I got a fair idea already what marks I will be giving each entry
great work Grant, that is a pro quality build, very nice
wow some dam fine builds there. Gav she's a dam stunner and Grant that thing just oozes time old classic I love it.
A stunning bass and a green demon. Good luck judges
Wokkaboy, You are right the kit only comes with one pick up I order the extra one when I purchase the kit and had DB route the pick up whole for me. The 4 controls are 2 volume and 2 tone and as for the three way switch it's set up for Neck-Both-Bridge pick ups.
ah ok thanks Peter, so the switch is an easier way to switch between pickups without having to turn the volume controls up or down
You got it. No time to adjust volume when your rock'n out on stage, just hit the switch :-
Wow Gav. That is an awesome outcome. Drooled on my keyboard I did.
What a stunner Peter, I can't believe the colour choices you've used work so well together but it's absolutely perfect! Great attention to detail and finish.
If this is a first build, just look out for number two!!
Grant's ES-2V, what can you say?
10/10 in my books buddy!
you're back Barge, thought you must have been beached ez without any wifi haha
Hahaha, nah Wokks, the build's come to a stand still and the kids are back at school/kindy so I'm back to being Bob the Builder around the homestead.
I don't know about you other guys, but whenever I start a new build it seems to consume my entire existence and I don't seem to get a lot else done. It might just be me:P
Thanks vh, stan, jarrod, barge, wokka.
Yes, Wokka , they are stock pickups. Set to bridge only has a light, almost jazz sound. Should really be finished off with a pair of Filtertrons or TVJones (will need to win lotto first).
Good luck everyone.
Gents what time is cut off for entries tonight? Literally walked in the door after being away with the boss. Just need to take some beauty shots and install the beautiful bone nut dB has prepared for me.
Alright!
Here is my Walkertone Cavalier.
Alder body, maple neck, 6 saddle gfs string thru bridge, bone nut courtesy of Mr bass.
Electronics are gfs rail humbuckers, orange drop caps, cts 3 way, switchcraft jack, cloth wiring, push pull tone and volume pots for humbucker and split coil sounds.
Finish is black Japan front, prs style natural binding and a mix of golden oak and a small amount of Japan brown for the back and sides. Neck and head stock are natural. There is then about 12 coats of wipe on tru oil, steel wooled down after ever 2 coats, and finished with 2 coats of spray tru oil. Neck is a similar story but with less coats of the naughty oil. Fret board is finished with dingo wax. A white Pearl pickguard and white switch cap finish her off.
Thanks heaps! http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...a6fbe04efe.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...cf1252d8d6.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...743cfd9c56.jpg
wow Andrew wondered where you been. Sweet looking tele bro, that came up a treat. Hide that one from Ads, luckily you are on the other side of the country !
Made the cut off time by 8 hours Perth time, well done !
Main thing is how do the mini rails sound ? look forward to a sound demo, so you coil split both pups ?
Cheers mate. The boss and I went os for chrissy, only arrived home yesterday after many a head ache and drama. This may be the last gotm I'm in for a while. Packing up and heading back to the Gold Coast pretty soon.
Wait that came out wrong. Got laid off via email while os, still owed near on 10k in lost wages, accruals and notice, going through fair work to recoup all that now, just Wanna get out of this town, back to civilisation and family, especially with a bub on the way.
well at least you will have a good choice of shops in Gold Coast for axe supplies on your next build.
Good to have you back bro !
Sorry to hear about getting laid off your job, that sucks to find out down the track via email ! Hope you get whats owed to you
Holy s#@t!!!....and I thought your last build was your best yet, I stand corrected.
That's ridiculous mate.
This is now the best GOTM I've seen so far.
Poor judges:-(
thanks Barge, I'm not looking forward to judging this month !
