Tony unfortunately the spare necks aren't numbered. I've tried a few in an LP body I have here and I've picked the one with the tightest fit. Easier to take wood off the heel than add wood to the pocket. I will send you that one and hope it fits. Let me know how it goes.

yeah good move Ads, at least he can remove some of the neck heel if need be. I told DB last Friday you wanted him to build you a coronado. He made a pretty funny comment !
I'm still waiting for my GR-1SF Wokka, which last I saw looked to be a Dingotone testing ground...
(DB if you see this, I would be very happy with a Butterscotch GR-1SF)
yeah Ads last time I saw the GR-1SF it looked like a hippy axe with about 5 or 6 colours on the cap. Hope you like that style Ads !
Better not hijack Tony's thread ! I'm bad at that !
Butterscotch it is then :)
As for the coranado, happy to build it but you can wire the f*****g thing....... Only just finished extensive therapy after wiring the last hollow body guitar.....
It's in the post Tony. I said I'd look after you because it was a genuine accident and you're a regular customer. If you wouldn't mind paying the postage, that would be appreciated. It's $12.50, so you can send that to payments@pitbullguitars.com (via www.PayPal.com.au) or our bank account details are in the "Payment Policy" link on our home page (down the bottom).
Where else can you get such world class service?
Soooo the one advantage of a bung neck, stain test piece.
Also as this needs to be finished before christmas has started the backup plan as a possible substitue.
So got the new neck to fix this guitar and is a super tight fit with plenty of meat to adjust to suit.
Should probably start a new thread but have continued with the PRS substitute and halfway through clearing the body and neck. Going silver hardware and zebra rocksongs. Waiting on some silver pickup rings. This has a mahogony body and a Basswood neck and had DB do a bone nut. Have to fix a small chip on the treble side of the headstock so bit of a sandbck reshape and should be sweet.
Super nice job on that blue Tony, ... really hot! (which is certainly saying something as I'm not usually a big fan of blue as a guitar colour)
This is looking very nice, well done
It's looking really good Tony.
that PRS looks sensational Tony, is that the one with no bridge holes drilled ? Haven't seen a PRS with trapezoid fret markers on the fingerboard and a 24 fretter
thanks Guys
Wokka this was one of the custom kits that was dropped. Yeah has some cool variations to the standard.
The basswood neck was a bit of a weird choice but will see how it goes.
nice one Tony, so did you drill the string through holes and fit the ferules ?
You are king of the popped flames !
Wokka string holes were already there.
Havent put ferrules in yet and wondering wether I have done the right thing, as was going to fit once the finish is done.
And no kinglyness, only the fickle favour of the Kit Gods in the quality of tops and grains in the last 4 or 5 kits.
The burst on that body is sensational.
Big ups to Adam.
12 coats of TO done and started the polishing process on the body. Just got to polish out some of the örange Peel"and will be ready to assemble
nice and shiny Tony, this will be one sexy PRS when its done !
Boy oh boy, you've certainly done justice to what was a relinquished "special". If the rest of this axe turns out as well as the body I'd say you have a potential GOTM winner . . .
Looks amazing Tony! Great job - that finish is sensational.
cheers,
Gav.
great work Tony, I like the stained body and coloured top look
Very nice man, you got me thinking about a black burst on my latest now. Great job Tony!!
Finished polishing and starting to fit hardware. Couple of extra upgrades than originally planned. Gotoh bridge, metal pickup rings and some locking tuners to still fit. Will wire up tomorrow and have a crack at gluing the neck.
Not sure about the speed knobs though.
So preeeetttyyyy.
The things that make you go #$@^&** %$#@! ^%$#@! *(*$%^&
So lining up for gluing and find that not everything is lining up as it should.
Not sure what I can do from here.
Suggestions?
Maybe redrill the holes and cover up the old ones with a plate like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...elect_a002.jpg
I showed the pics to a luthier friend of mine and he said pretty much the same thing Jay did. Relocate the holes and use a cover plate and he suggested making one unless you can find something online that will work with an archtop.
I know what I would do but it would change the whole aesthetic of the guitar.

VH have you gotten back to this guitar? Did you fix the string location problem?
O Poo!
Rob might just have come up with the easiest solution...
Hi Rob havent yet.
Been looking at what i can do around a cover plate that wont look out of place. Also looked a putting a TOM tailpiece in as well. Still deciding on which way to go. Have an Idea but will need to get it made.
So looking to go with a tailpiece that will cover the holes once the ferrules are removed and the holes filled coloured and sealed.
As the recipient is 15 he is really happy with the skull.
To sort out the string ferrules on the back working on something else.
Can now get this back underway.
Who doesn't love a skull? I certainly haven't outgrown it ;).
cheers,
Gav.
nice solution, what 15yo doesnt like a badass skull on an awesome blue axe?
That is a very cool tailpiece!
Finally had a weekend to actually do some builds so was able to glue in neck.
Tailpiece to go then wire up.
looking good Tony, good to see a few builds on the go and you had time to do some work on them
