cheers Barge and Tony.
Barge, you have the skills to build something like this, you just need to start with a nice piece of timber ! You're a double GOTM winner bro !
got a bit more neck shaping. heaps more to do but got the basic curve
Looks like Riciardo 9th on grid at Brazil. Rosberg on pole with Hamilton 2nd
a neck pup chrome surround arrived so had to do a quick mock build
a neck pup chrome surround arrived so had to do a quick mock build. Haven't had a chance to do any neck shaping
managed to get another coat of DT clear on the body and very happy with the results, after the 3rd clear coat its starting to get a bit shiny minus the naughtiness !
Wow Wokka this is just beautiful. Of course the wood helps, but you've made the most of it. Amazing.
cheers,
Gav.
cheers Gav, the last DT clear coat has really started to shine and really lift the amazing grain. Bring on more clear coats
Looking good Wokks.
Will you try routing by hand next time? Or always use the CNC?
Love the colour the wood has taken
Looks amazing, also love the matching control plate
cheers fellas
@ Nicko this is the first time I've got Jarrod to cut a body I normally cut my own with a router and template. Jarrod cut me some CNC templates so next scratch build I'll do myself. Just wanted to see how the CNC would cut the sassafras
This is stunning mate.
got a fair bit of work done on the neck, fingerboard glued, bit of shaping, fret dot markers in and roughly radiused to 12'
few more pics of the new neck
Nice work on the neck Wokka, it's looking fantastic already. What is the fingerboard made of?
cheers,
Gav.
That is looking amazing woks. Loving the grain and tthe laminated neck.
amazing... :)
cheers AJ
hope to get the frets knocked in Friday going to DB's man cave for a visit
looks great Wokka, really love the body on this, nice work
cheers Stan, all you have to do is start with a nice blank slab of timber
true mate, but you made it into an awesome Tele, I'd end up with a chopping board
I'm sure Stan you would do a great job mate !
We've made a few chopping boards as a side project, Wayne has made some tele shaped ones !
Chopping board gat!
I think you've posted some of those - they were cool
yeah I can't remember where the photos of the tele shaped chopping boards are, you probably saw them on the 4D FB page Stan
I found a pic of Wayne's strat/tele shaped bread boards, even got strap pins!
I would shred on that. And chop. And dice.
Yeah that too mate.
got a bit more done on the neck and DB kindly helped me with getiting frets ready. Got a veneer on headstock and starting to take shape. The large squashed headstock is a new cheese board
here's a breadboard I made and some pics of progress
couple more pics, had to re-radius fingerboard and ended up sanding through the MOP fret markers so got more drilled. Veneer on headstock and tuner holes drilled. Hope to get the frets on later today
Absolutely beautiful Tele and the coolest breadboard ever.
You are getting more and more creative all the time Wokka.
Cheeseboard looks like Darth Vader's helmet in profile - helmet cheese anyone?
Lol'd when I probably shouldn't have.
Wow Warren, that headstock veneer matches the body a real treat. This guitar just keeps getting better and better.
rob
