Wudtone Azure blue.... its got 4 coats of their satin finish on already.. one day I'm hoping to find a matching gloss for Wudtones dyes.. need to experiment when i get some spare wood one day, their own gloss isn't much different from the satin, although that said I do like the ease of Wudtones products
Hey Chrissy looks great. I hope Wudtone have sorted out their stains, I did an axe in azure lagoon few years ago and its faded pretty bad, to more of a green colour, It's not the first wudtone stain I've had fade.
I'm hoping it doesn't fade... the other 2 kits I used their dyes on haven'y faded at all, but its only a few months....
Hopefully not Chrissy, I'm talking about builds 3-4 years ago. I think they were skimping on the dye to save money. Hopefully that's a thing of the past.
I just had a look on the UK Wudtone site and saw about 6 of DB's builds in the gallery
I'm currently trying one of Crimsons stains and the oil, stain was ok, but the oil soaks like hell into the basswood, turned the stain a very dark colour on the end grain... gotta put up with it now and hope... lol. Not too sure what to do on the next build, want to try the tru oil but need to determine a dye to go under it we can easily get in the UK
all these guitars are new to me and a learning curve each and every one, in a year or two hopefully I'll be turning one out like you experienced gents. I'm just happy doing them at the mo and learning
Thats a beautiful colour, I wish we got Wudtone in Oz
me to andy i am not a blue guy but i love that shade cant wait to see it finished
This is attached to the main Wudtone website but looks like they will ship direct.
