looking good Dedman, thank you for breaking the almost 3 hours of no posting on the forum drought !
3 coats of black on, didn't take a pic, it looks just like the last pic except black :P Will start the spongery tomorrow, will try to get pics as I go but it's a messy process so I may not pick the camera up as often as I should.
sounds good Dedman, don't worry about pics during the painting process but keen to see pics once it's hanging and curing.
What pickup you got for this baby ?
ah cheers Dedman, thanks for that, the Wilkinsons should sound sweet
so today it was onto the paint effects.
What you need to start. 1 nice guitar finished in the base colour , which is black. Some colours, in this case a bluey green and a green, both metallics. one of my greens is a spray can, the blue is just paint in a can and some more black, this can be spray can or in my case I'm using a touch up spray gun.

to start the process,I put down some green, I sprayed the paint into the glass bowl and dipped the sponge in it, dab most of it off on a bit of scrap wood then pat the sponge onto the guitar. Use a up and down motion, don't drag it or you get smears instead of splodges. After randomly doing that all over I give it light sand and then a mist coat of black. I just mix up a thin coat of paint but if you are using spray cans just stand back a bit further :P

So I just keep doing this, I mixed some of the green and the turquoise did it again and again then gave it a coat of clear for depth. I decided to call it quits for the day. Will be back tomorrow with some more of the green.
