Mate, with time, care and effort, you'll create an amazing, personal axe to be proud of for many years. The operative words there are "time, care and effort" though. Don't forget them. ;)
As I said before, really keen to see this baby grow. :)

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Mock assembly tonight, neck joint is very nice and tight, can lift the guitar by the neck, just as it should be. Still got to check the measurements, but it all looks good. Started discussing headstock shapes with my wife too. Pickup surrounds are flat, not curved. No big deal, can sort it out I suppose. I'm thinking about headstock shapes partly because I figure if I cut some bits off the headstock then I can try out some samples with the dyes/timbermate.

Now that is a nice spalt.
Win on that veneer. Maybe try no pickup rings? Dont want to hide that spalting
While I'm happy with the spalt on my IB-6S, yours is really nice!
If you go for a direct mount you might find you need to swap out the pup screws for wood screws (the machine screws sometimes have enough tooth to grip but sometimes it doesnt depending on the wood). You could also try using threaded inserts and that'd give the full ease of height ajustability that pup rings give. Itd be the best of both worlds cos itd be a shame to cover that sick spalt.
lots of pressure man, because that is one of the best spalted kits i've seen!
Beautiful veneer. Let's see some stain on that bad boy!
But don't rush it for my sake
