It never rains it pours, one man in a van leaves and another turns up.
My Bill Lawrence L90 pickups turned up today, wound by the lovely Becky Lawrence herself a top winder in her own right.
Each pickup is 2.8H Neck and 4H Bridge, a late decision was made and these are going in a Telecaster build with coil splitting etc, the ones out of the telecaster are going in the 335/12.

And the Duncan Designs out of my Blacktop tele, these are a bit hotter. All my other hardware is chrome, so these will do in here and should work well on the 12strings

nice looking pups Tony, the chrome hardware on the 335 with Duncan pups will look excellent
Yeah Wok i figure if i split the coils on the Tele i can still go for the classic sound and have a bit more to play with, i think that would be wasted on the 12 string.
I needed to expand the pickup routes to take the Duncan Designs, and seeing as the guitar has finish on it i took the steady as she goes approach.
240grit wrapped around a glue stick from my glue gun, has a soft enough base that if you slip out of the route you shouldn't damage anything, the rear route is very shallow and i did slip out a few times, especially seeing i was sanding in an up and down motion.

I could of used my Dremel, but couldn't risk it, next time i will make sure i have the pickups ready, and do it before i finish it.
Yep, just experienced similar on my Tele with the bridge PUP being a fraction too wide and also had to sand very gently to protect the preciously thin maple cap. Thankfully I did this before any colour went down.
Your Chrome hardware is looking good with the Red.
Took about 30mins by hand Waz, nothing like a bit of sanding therapy :D
Those HB's are quite hot, Fender call them Hot Vintage Alnico Humbucking Pickup, they are Duncan Design wound by BHK in China who dont make a bad pickup generally.
I agree that the softly softly apprach was better Tony, could have ruined that beautiful finish otherwise. job well done
These Duncan Design read
Neck 8.5H 12.6K
Bridge 8.7H 12.9k
so they certainly have some herbs and spices in them, should un-jangle the 12 string a little when the volume goes BANG.
The Bill Lawrence L90's
Neck 2.8H 6.16k
Bridge 4.1H 7.62K
these should go well in the tele i will be putting together, with alot of different wiring and push pull pots, coil splitting etc
