You got that right Stan, put it this way, there's never not something to be done, and thanks for the encouraging words man.
@keloooe hey cheers pest;-)
Here's the final profile, binding scraped with a light sand on top.
Anyone who's had the pleasure of working with basswood knows you only have to look at the stuff the wrong way and dents appear, so as you can imagine after a veneer and binding job there's a fair bit of sanding to be done.
We're heading for the home straight...
looking awesome Barge, so after some sanding we should see some dingotone applied !
I've probably missed it somewhere in the last 15 freakin pages, but what colours are going on this one?
haha yeah Pabs this will be the record length build diary thread for sure
He's putting DT nullarbor ochre on the body top and natural back and neck.
Barge posted a pic 1st post page 1 how it should look like. He replicated the shape perfectly !
Damn shame it's going to need a pickguard! This guitar is going to be too pretty for Mastodon riffs.
Yeah that's the plan Wokks, just looking at the back of the body I probably need to fine tune the contours a bit more yet, so there's gonna still be a fair bit of sanding until I'm 100% happy and can move forward with the Dingotone.
@ Pabs, yeah what Wokka said:-)
Bridge turned up today and after some quick measurements it's apparent that the new one should work sweet as.
first look at the binding got to love the pearloid binding, looks choice bro !
Good news on the bridge looking good too, the posty has been good to you lately Barge !
Like your mock pic on page 1 Barge I'd be chopping as much of the pickguard as you can to expose the flame maple
