Oh thanks, I didn't realize until just now that your link worked.
Sorry that my boy was short on time and didn't play any traditional resonator type of tune or an acoustic sample.
Hey cork how would you rate the sound, i was camping a few weeks ago and a fellow camper pulled out a full metal body gresch resonator tuned to open d and it was quite awsome to here niether of us could really play a slide but a bit of practice and it would be a great thing to have

I don't trust cloud things looking at my phone or PC. Years ago I gave YouTube a try with some GoPro bike vids, HQ vids became rubbish quality and took way too long to upload. After the attempted audio failure today I've even deleted Tapatalk from my phone, minimalist for this old bloke :-(
I have just opened my new kit and looked at the resonator cone fit. It appears to sit right onto the base of guitar without any gap. I understand that i need a gap for the resonator to work. My question is... the cone sits about 1.5mm lower than the top deck of guitar, if I raised the cone with some seats so it was flush with the top deck, that would give me the gap under. Would this work??? or would it vibrate with the top plate of the resonator. Can anyone advise cheers Glen
I suspect raising the cone would make the action WAY too high.
I suspect seats would reduce tone quality.
It's so much easier to cut the bottom out (as a few of us have successfully done) resulting in more room for for the cone and a bigger sound box.

I had originally taken 2mm, but that left a thin wall of the timber, so I opted to get rid of it completely to prevent any weird resonance issues.
