That's turned out very nicely (imperfections and all). Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Hi Oli
Thanks for the nice comments on my SG. Keep pouring on that TruOil. It's starting to shine.
How's you AC/DC?
I'd be leaving the Phoenix. Looks very professional.
Happy frets. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d55d8a676d.jpg

AC/DC!!!!:D
my entire skill there is in two songs only. highway to hell and you shook me all night long. both cracker songs that i love playing along to . simple solos in position 1 minor pentatonic!
but that is it. im more enamored with Pink Floyd. slow and steady is for me....
I meant to ask yesterday. Are you aware or the TruOil shine trick.
Once you get a nice smooth shiny TO finish, do two coats of 50/50 mix of TO and Turps.
Hi Dikky. Rather than totally hijacking this thread I've coped your post and started a new thread about it as I have a few questions about your method that I can't see answers to. It would be nice if you could fill us in. Cheers.

I would stick with the Maquires now that it is on. I am sure it would as good or better shine.
I remember seeing something on YouTube about getting polish of with metho or turps. I can’t remember which.
I think it would run the risk of being patchy if all the polish was not off.
Good reason why you need to build another guitar so you can give it a try.
Another build???Absolutely Greg !!!
Got my eye on something very different.
I really like the shape changes made here
