Just got the box and it all seems to be there. Pretty excited to attempt this. I know virtually nothing about woodwork, electricity, soldering or building guitars. I just like playin 'em and lookin' at 'em.

Then you've come to the right place, I think most guys here know that feelin. But there's a heap of answers to be had, you just gotta ask the questions and someone here will have the answer....except if the question is about understanding woman, no one has those answers.
welcome to the forum Mongrel, nice looking kit you scored, looks like a LP-1M mahogany body and neck. What colour Dingotone kit did you order ?
Looks like some nice flame maple on the veneer. Best early tip I can give you is don't sand the veneer much they are very thin. If you want to pop the flames with a black stain then I'd advise no pre-sanding before you apply the black stain then sand it back with 320 grit paper.
Ask any questions you have and good luck with the build. Most important stage of the build is setting (gluing) the neck so ask lots of questions.
OOOOOh another LP build! I will eventually get around to doing one, though I should probably start finishing the others first...
Welcome to the madhouse, you've gotten a great kit by the looks of your pic. Have you any outrageous plans? Look forward to seeing it evolve :)
Hi Mongrel, that's a sweet looking kit, I'm sure you're going to have fun with it.
I'm in the same situation as you with woodworking skills, and over the last month and a bit I've been managing OK by taking everything slowly, asking all the questions I can think of when I'm unsure about something, and measuring/checking things 2 or 6 times before doing anything like cutting or filing that can't be undone.
It's fun as :)
Welcome Mongreldogma!
Love the name mate. good to see you aboard the crazy train
Thanks for the tips wokkaboy. I found out the veneer was pretty thin, BEFORE I read your post. No major damage just a bit see through on an edge or two. I will definitely ask plenty of questions before i stick that neck on.
Welcome Mongrel and a great looking kit!
