From 64 - 73 I was lucky to do a paying show per month but did do a bit of session work 1970 - 72
From 1973 - 81 with the switch to country played paying gigs on average of 5 nights a week and often more.

And the music scene in Sydney... the tumble-weed started to blow through this place about 15 years ago.... 'urban renewal', sound restrictions etc..... so many band venues have shut up shop.
I remember having a regular gig at Leonay Bowling Club and they installed a sound meter that cut the power to the stage if it spent more than a few seconds in the red, after the sound was cut a couple of times we turned down to a very low level and sang without mics which made the punters very unhappy.Quote:

I remember Mike Whitney saying on a certain show on TV one night that a banjo solo is like an org4asm, you know it's coming but there's nothing you can do about it :D
