Thread: Hey everyone

    Hey everyone

    Hey everyone,

So I'm just about to hit purchase on a custom order (and will start a proper build diary when i get into it) but thought I'd throw my idea out there as this is my first time. I mostly chose pbg because these forums looked so helpful.

I play a Peavey T60 and recently purchased an ECG aluminum neck for it, leaving my original T60 neck lying on a shelf. I've always wanted a semi hollow to have as my second guitar so thought building it would be fun. The neck is 25 1/2" scale and apparently fits tele's no worries (aside from the neck plate screws being placed differently), so I've decided to order a TL-1TB made from Ash, without the neck holes drilled. Having the Peavey branding on the neck and using a Peavey neck plate (from ebay) i thought I may as well fully dress it as a Peavey (maybe I'll add a couple extras "0" on the end and make it a T-6000 :P) and get a T60 bridge and knobs (also from ebay) so ill get them to leave the bridge routing out also. I never use the neck pickup so I'm gonna leave that out and just have the bridge pickup routed, probably with a Bare Knuckle Nailbomb in it. In the end i think I'll end up with something like a semi hollow Esquire. To finish I'm thinking I'll use a pale pink with a white pickguard...

Thats my plan anyway! Any words of wisdom before I blunder into this?

    Nice idea!
Are you just buying the body or the whole kit?
Make sure you specify you want the neck pocket and single pickup rout done if it is a custom body, the factory needs very specific instructions.
Pink is always a cool colour.

Thanks Andy, i was thinking just the body and perhaps an upgrade kit for the wiring, but ill need to pull a knob off my T60 tomorrow to see if they have the same pots. I think pbg have a clear idea of what im after! Wont be ready till November! will be a long wait.

    Hi mate :-)
Another T60 convert here, I'd very much like to see a couple of photos of your T60 with the alloy neck.

EDIT, There's a photo of mine in post #4 in this linked thread ...

Sorry Cork, I checked out while I was waiting for my kit to arrive, here is my Peavey T60 with the EGC aluminium neck.
The bassist i play with has the T40 with an EGC neck also!

I’m gonna head over and start a build diary!

Rad guitar. I saw MoE play in town not long ago and they both had EGC guitars. Crazy looking things! (Pretty crazy band as well)

I must be getting too old as I reckon that band was rubbish. Wouldn't even walk across the road to see them if they were playing for free, other than to flick the power switch to put them out of their misery.

Horses for courses - they are Norwegian Doom Punk (don't call them metal) and are absolutely brutal. The lead singer is about 3 feet tall and possibly possessed by a demon on stage. Super nice off stage. Funnily enough the gig I was at got shut down because of a noise complaint. Pretty sure its because they were at the yehaw pub in town - which is a strange place to hold a metal and hardcore show TBH. If it'd been country music no doubt they would have been allowed to finish their set.
