Pretty cool. Not as cohesive as I would like.

I've had a bit of a lightbulb for my scratch plate... but I need to find just the right item in the op shop. The second hand shop tour is a favourite pass time for myself and the wife so I'm sure the right thing will turn up eventually.

It was originally to manufacture a nut, complete with zero fret, for which purposes 2 blocks was going to be overkill. I didn’t realise that it was a lot of six per unit so I got 12 blocks. I have some other uses for it.

So this one is still a slow burn. I haven't really been inspired by some of the flourishes I've found. Nothing is quite working.

I had a bit of a flash of inspiration a week or so ago. The request for this one has been 'Steampunk with a nautical theme' and a my better half has been talking a lot about how the octopus is her favourite animal. This is a pretty good tie in with victorian era sea monsters so i've started working on an idea in that vein.

At this stage I'm thinking about getting a bit of brass or aluminium plate approx 3mm thick and a dremel, then engraving/carving my design on that.

So I drew a rough idea on the guitar itself.

Then went into illustrator and copied/refined it.

Now the idea is to transfer that onto a piece of brass (or copper or aluminium...).

    Stay tuned......
