I tend to leave the legs long (so I can position it and/or reuse it elsewhere), and cover them with heat shrink or insulation stripped off wires:

If you’re going with the single PIO cap with two tone pots just have the ‘out’ from tone 2 link to the ‘out’ of tone 1 and have the cap go from there to a ground point.

I am using the wiring diagram from Seymour Duncan....3 single coil 2 tone push pull volume for bridge and 5 way crl blade switch.

    I can't upload that diagram...too big.....but it is here.

    https://docs.google.com/gview?embedd...1VppENB_2T.pdf

I was intending to solder it like the one in this photo. If I understand you, then this is what you meant.

    Once again weirdy. Thanks.

Yep, that SD diagram is the way I was suggesting, just run the cap from the tone pot lug to whatever ground point is most convenient. Insulating the legs stops it from shorting so just position where it fits best for the cavity etc.

I love it too.....bloody thing did not arrive before I had to go back to work. Not home until evening of Sunday 29th December now.

Aussie Post still has it in transit....xmas pressies in the way I think.

My neighbour is schooled up to grab it and put it away safe for me. There are some nice people left in the world.

I have really not given much thought to body colours etc.....really will just do my norm.

Sand from 80, 120, 180....timber mate...240...two to three coats of shellac.

Stain....then Fine Buffing Oil, cabinet makers wax and carnauba polish.
Ozz, are you sanding the shellac before staining? If not, how does the stain penetrate?
Are you using the shellac as an additional grain filler?

    Secondly re: your wiring -
Are you considering adding the tone to the bridge pickup? I do it as standard on all my strats. There are a couple of way to do this and all simple as.
And fwiw, you might want to consider a mini-toggle for "7 sound" or "add bridge" (same thing) control. It's way easier to switch on teh fly with a toggle than a push-pull pot. Just my 2 cents on that.

    EDIT TO ADD:
I just read your comment in another recent post re: "Shellac under a stain". That answered my question above. Thanks!

    The arrival.

Had the chance to duck home for a few hours today. Box tucked away safe out of the weather waiting for me.

Heads up guys.....really check the order...invoice...packing slip and your memory. Some extra and add on things are just tiny and can get lost in the big shipping box. Case in point my first Bone Nut. Neatly tucked away loose in one of the internal divider sections. I then also found a guitar pick as well....nice.

Anyway. The neck and body fit really well. The body is definitely two piece. The neck appears to be maple...not so much flame maple. I found one line of possible flame on the fretboard at the ninth fret. Nothing on the headstock nor the back of the neck at all.

As the ad says it is a natural product. (Insert sad face though.) No time for a sneaky wipe over with metho to see if the flame is hiding....back to work.

But I did get some shots. The locking tuners came in a big envelope.....and the three separate entwistle pickups came in individual foam padded cardboard boxes.

Can't wait to get loose on this one.

I have been thinking about trying a Dragon Burst.....but that would mean water based stains...which have not gone well for me. Perhaps the alcohol prooftint stains from Feast Watson may be a better option. Time for a colour search I think.

The pickups have the NOISELESS extra winding coil mounted underneath....pretty well thought out concept. Be interesting to see how they sound.

    The pickup boxes.

Nice padded with foam cardboard box with springs and mounting screws in a bag tucked underneath for each pick up.
