Thread: My first build GTL-1

    My first build GTL-1

G’day, this is my first time on this sort of thing,
My GTL-1 kit showed up today, just over a week after I ordered it. I’m pretty impressed with that.
I’ve done the mock build, all seems good, the neck is slightly loose in the cavity but nothing a shim won’t fix and the pick guard is too tight but should also be an easy fix.
I’m pretty excited to get into it and look forward to tapping into the collective knowledge of the community.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

I like your headstock design. Very cool indeed

I really wasn’t looking forward to the neck and frets but it wasn’t too bad. I got lucky with the frets, only had two high ones, they’ve polished up a treat with some 400, 600, 800 grit then 0000 steel wool.

Yeah I’m really happy with it hey. I wanted something different to the standard Tele style, I just traced around the curve of some washers and the cut it out on the band saw
