Then it certainly is important to you. I was wondering if Dedman turned down the tone control at all in normal use?
I actually made an error in my post, the pots are 250k, the cap was correct at .047. Generally I leave the tone pot around the middle and never touch it

Perfect, that's what most manufactures recommend for their P90 pups. Pretty much treat em as per any other single coil.
500k is the standard P90 pot value, so 250k will make them a bit darker. And 250k will already have an effect on the tone as there's less resistance between the capacitor and the signal before you even start to turn the pot down. So yes, I understand now that it will sound darker than normal.
