This is the second of two YB-4 kits I bought.
The basecoat is Holden Barina red I had leftover from a respray I did 10 years ago on my girlfriend's daughter's first car. Then I put a tangerine candy clear over the top to give it a bit of a glowing effect under the light.
I also changed the factory output jack for a barrel-style jack.
Polished before assembly...
This one's nice too.

Thanks. I'm still learning how to do this on timber. I used to do this on classic cars and wet sanding was so much easier.
Great finish! The experience with spraying cars has definitely given you some serious spraying chops.

Well I should admit I use probably twice the paint I should if I was better at setting my spray gun and compressor. I lay down heaps of coats so I can wet sand all the orange peel and hit it with the buffing machine for hours. Plenty of times I sand thru to the primer and have to re-coat it again. Acrylic lacquer is pretty easy to fix mistakes too. Trust me I make plenty of those.Originally Posted by Fretworn
