I've changed to original 250k pots over to genuine Fender 500k pots. I still need to alter the cutouts to suit the humbuckers and wire those in. I'm waiting on a few other parts to be delivered.
The body has been stripped back and undercoated ready for the topcoats
Fully complete and works like a charm and sounds absolutely wicked/evil. All new electronics, Gotoh locking tuners, mirror finish scratch guard, knurled SS pot knobs and a new trem bridge (yet to be fitted).
The finish was an experiment with pot of Porters Tin paint (as in real tin, not tin looking) I had left over. After something like 8 coats and not looking like it would ever cover, I decided to sand it off and start again. Part way through taking it off my wife come into the workshop and said how good it looked in a shabby chic kind of way. So this is the end result.
