I know it's subjective, but 'daphne blue' (absurd title as Daphnes are not blue) would attract a similar polarising viewpoint.

    cheers, Mark.

I guess I just assumed that Daphne was the daughter of the GM executive who named the paint. It's pretty close to the color of my last project... Now I'm doing seafoam. I caught sh*t a while back from some because I put a red mother-of-toilet-seat pickguard on a black jazz bass.

I always thought cars should look like this...

...and guitars should look like cars.

I grew up on the West Coast of the US where the word "culture" was either preceded by "cowboy" or "car." Now I live in Miami, where elegant means that your shirt has buttons, and your flip-flops are relatively new. What the heck do you expect?

In that case it should be more accurately described 'Daphne's blue' then.

    cheers, Mark.

I happen to love red pearloid (mother-of-toilet-seat) on black guitars!
But that's probably because I'm not a big fan of solid black guitars

However, that strat eventually ended up like this:

    It was my "Super Strat"
Making the world a better place; one guitar at a time...

By that logic it should have also been Mercedes's Benz, since it was named after Daimler's daughter.

I didn't think I liked black guitars either--and I always thought this bass looked like a penguin with the white pickguard. I was amazed at how much better I liked it once I put the new pickguard on.... goes well with the vintage looking maple neck, I think...in both cases ;-)

    Funny that.
Here's a mod my daughter wanted on her Squier Bronco bass.
