    Heel truss rod

This is part of the world's longest build. I have a Warmoth body and neck that I bought sometime between 1986-1989. I just purchased a custom pickguard for the project. One of the questions in customizing the pickguard was whether I wanted a truss rod cut. I ordered the cut because the adjustment on the neck is at the heel. But I did not notice that body was not cut for a heel trussrod until I got the pickguard. To be able to adjust the trussrod with the neck attached I guess I'm just going to have to cut a slot, right?

    I found this online...

...although I think I'll do it with a router. I have to slightly enlarge a pickup cavity as well, and the saw won't work on that....

Advice is welcome. Also, once again, caveat emptor on all Warmoth products. Neck is sloppy in the slot as well....

It’s good that you’ve let them acclimatise!

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
