The last job was building a cabinet for the computer.
    Ends and sides:

Add some left-over acoustic plasterboard for mass:

    Glue and press:

    Make a box:

    Opening front end:

    Handle and panel clips:

Lick of paint, wheels and clips:

    Ready to go in:

So here's how the empty shell sounded:

here's how it sounds singing to the 'live' end:

And here's how it is singing to the dead end with the baffling moved and the duvet down:

I'll check out the clips a bit later but I'm intrigued by the PC box .. what are you doing about airflow? High temps kill computers, I have my main PC out in the shed with me and at this time of year both side covers are off with a fan blowing directly on it.. and it already has a mega cooling system.. just to keep it with in a sensible operating range while I'm working. I'd strongly suggest down loading Core Temp or similar to monitor it. If you are consistently hit 80C you might want to re-evaluate.

    Studio is looking great otherwise

Outside temp is about 6 degrees here, it's a comfortable 12 or so inside. The pc really doesn't run that hot in general, but most of the time i'll leave the front off - it's quiet enough for mixing. It only needs the full whack for recording and since I don't use any plugins on the way in it rarely gets stretched.

Oh well that's fair enough. I'm sitting in 32C with 80% humidity atm, hard to conceive of those temps when you are sweating.

Still, I'd probably at least monitor it via Coretemp when it's enclosed. Better to stop recording for 10 mins while it cools off than cook a core.

I want to build a similar box for my air compressor so it's not so loud in the shed and I'm just going to duct it to an outside wall for airflow.

Hah! "a comfortable 12" Aussies would have 3 jumpers and a beanie on at that temp!

Of course a Queenslander would have a puffer jacket and a beanie with boardshorts and thongs, and be looking absolutely miserable! (btw, thongs are flip-flops to you Northeners!)

Only 32??? My weather station is showing 34.6...

I too am jealous of that nice set up. But I think I said before, it goes far beyond my (sound) engineering skills

I am struck by the very stark contrast in the clips. It really is a Dead end isn't it? Very cool.
    Very nice work Drew.
