Thread: New music space - or 'A long list of compromises'

  1. #21
My back hurts just looking at the photos!

Ya gots to love digging through builder's rubble! The typical builder's mentality is "out of sight - out of mind" and chances are they'll never see it again. I know, 'cause I was in the business many moons ago!

    Good job.

Nothing like swinging a pick, or stomping a shovel straight into a half brick or similar.
    Bet you slept well.

Like a log! Digging up the bricks was bad enough, digging up the bricks to get at the slabs underneath...

Yikes! Why can't you just use the buried slabs as footers for the piles?

    Bummer dude

    edit to add:
FTR, I don't usually use the word "dude", but just "Bummer" was to short for the forum Gods, so I had to add more characters!

As a combo 'bummer dude' does express a wealth of sentiment though.

Believe it or not it's taken a lot of effort to get this far.
    Laid out for this morning:

    Base installed:

Coming back next week for the main build.

That's great! Good to see it moving forward.
However, I would like to see some "in between" shots of the two pics you posted.

Is that floor one piece set on the piles? I seem to remember mention of a crane previously.
