Geez the neck department is definitely in need of a re-stock hehe.

FWIW I tend to go over the whole thing using the fret levels.
Pin-pointing in all 6 points across each fret and marking the high spots.
i.e. sometimes the high spot isn't all the way across the fret.
Then go over with a small fine file only where those high spots are.
Sometimes it can be a bit like 'whack-a-mole' when you go over again and find it's not quite there.
Perseverance pays off in the end as you only take off the minimum required for a decent player.

    cheers, Mark.
    Yeah massive lesson learned.
I did read on it some time ago and watched videos but I re read the fret leveling on another post and maybe I should of taken the nut off.
I think the main culprit was me and the tool I made. I don’t think it was square enough.

Nah, its not that drastic mate. It will be a refret job only.

While getting a luthier to do that for you might cost you more than the kit, getting an Igor to do it will cost you postage and the price of the Fretwire.

Hah hah. The gag is that Igor is the voice in Frankie’s head. There’s a running theme to the goings on in the ‘lab’ if you follow his posts.
    Build 1 - Shoegazer MK1 JMA-1
    Build 2 - The Relliecaster TL-1

Igor is the second most famous person in Glebe...after Cliff Hardy.

(edit) for 'person' put 'fictional character'

    cheers, Mark.

Sometimes I wonder, ‘is Igor the voice inside Frankie’s head, or is FrankenWashie the voice inside Igor’s head?’ Either way they are probably not worlds apart.

Ok so I’ve not posted for a few days as I’ve been busy but.
The frets on my neck could be saved. I have agreed to pay $100 to have it professionally sorted. He has also agreed in the price for me to bring back the completed guitar to go over it with me and make sure it’s set up correctly and sounds good.
I am happy with this decision as all I want is to be able to play and it sound nice.
A big learning curve for me and I’ll know what to do next time around on another build.

So next is to finish painting the body today. And shape the head stock. Pics to follow later.
