Ok I’ve got some issues and I don’t know why.
I have cracking on this first very light coat. Something is reacting???
Please, any feedback would be great.

Is that the paint or in the body? It doesn’t look like a typical reaction, but perhaps there was a slight run there, making it a bit too thick. Not entirely sure from that photo, the usual solution is to let it dry and sand it back again.

Ok so I’ve sanded it back and re-sprayed that area.

I think I have f’d up my frets, I think I have taken too much off and the tool I’m using is not crowning properly. Or I’ve taken too much off the frets and there’s not enough to crown. Or the curve inside the crowning tool is too deep and it’s not able to crown.

    Advice please.

I must admit the method of sanding all of the frets at once is not the way I go about it.
Seems like 'chemo-therapy' killing off good cells as well as the bad ones you are supposed to be targeting.

However, when you are crowning with that file, I would suggest approaching it from each side of the fret and try not to let it ride over the top.

    Cheers, Mark.

I have better luck with a small flat edged file than a crowning file. Plenty of tape and about half a dozen passes starting from the side and angling closer towards the top with each pass. Stop and reassess.

I have taken it into my local guitar shop, to get a professional look. Not that anybody on here is not. But having the neck to physically touch and look with the naked eye is different.
The main guy was not in but will call me later. But the dude said to me the frets look a little low.

If I get a call back to say it’s FUBAR, I might have to buy a new neck .

Well at least it should only set you back about $55.00.

Geez the neck department is definitely in need of a re-stock hehe.

FWIW I tend to go over the whole thing using the fret levels.
Pin-pointing in all 6 points across each fret and marking the high spots.
i.e. sometimes the high spot isn't all the way across the fret.
Then go over with a small fine file only where those high spots are.
Sometimes it can be a bit like 'whack-a-mole' when you go over again and find it's not quite there.
Perseverance pays off in the end as you only take off the minimum required for a decent player.

    cheers, Mark.
