BTW Have you had a look at the neck straightness/fret level yet?
I tend to do mine whilst the neck is off the body.
As I remember it was actually the first part of the build that I do.

I checked the straightness of the neck yesterday actually as my Pit Bull neck straight edge arrived in the post yesterday. My neck looks as straight as, no gaps.
I’ve not looked at the frets yet, the fret leveller comes in the post on Monday.
I shall start sanding the body today and tomorrow in prep for the grain filler. While that’s drying I shall then work on the neck to give me something to do.

Sanded the guitar this morning and applied sanding sealer.
My method of suspending the guitar from the ceiling is probably not the best best. I can see the hole getting bigger already.
Might have to get a bit of wood on the neck like I’ve seen some others do.

Hi - I am really glad that you recovered OK after the issue with the neck. Like you said, on your first one you have to go with gut feel a little at times and hope for the best.

I look forward to the next update

BTW - I am not sure what wood your body is made of. I am working with ash at the moment and after I used the sanding sealer it still wasnt enough to totally level the body so I used some grain filler both on its own and mixed with a little water which seems to have worked well now that I have sanded it off.

You may be staining instead but I thought I would mention it now as it has been a pretty painless step.
