First Build PIT BULL GUITARS IB-6SL Lefty 6-String Bass

Hi all,

Here's my first build. The kit came in the other day and I have a local aerosol artist coming in today to do a unique design for my body. For the neck and head I'm going to do a pretty basic finish and bring out the beautiful wood colors in it.

The one thing I am curious about is the fretboard. I couldn't find anything in the guides as to what kind of finish is best. If anyone has any recommendations that would be much appreciated. (If I don't end up getting any responses by when it comes time to finish the neck and fretboard I'll do some google research to see if I can get the answers I need.)

Isn't that the bass with the beautiful spalted maple cap?
I don't think I would want to cover that with paint.

We didn't actually cover it with paint. We used a woodstain, but went with a pretty cool color pattern for it. I'll get some picks once I finish with the polish and whatnot.
