Guys.
Don’t know if this is the right spot to post.
I’ve got a serious tree trunk x 2
Plus a few smaller stool size blocks of gum tree.
Here are some photos.




A whole bunch of sentimental value attached as it is in my dads back yard and he passed away 10 years ago.
The tree almost broke the house when it broke and fell in a big storm and the pencil pushers in the local council gave us permission to have it cut down.

It has been sitting a d drying for about 1.5 years now.

Q. How does one get these sliced to make a few guitar bodies and a table top?

My guess would be to contact a timber yard (like Anagote) and ask their advice. The ideal would be to get someone like that to do it as they will have the equipment to do it properly, and they also know which parts of the wood are best to use. It could be $$$ though. The alternative is a chainsaw and elbow grease.

Thanks dude. I’ll google some timberyards now!
I understand there is a large expense.
But it was the old mans tree and I want to keep it.

You need to talk to a sawmill, most of the timber yards only reprocess already slabbed timber, I don’t know of one that has an actual sawmill set up.

That’s what I need. A mobile one cos those logs are not going anywhere unless chopped up!!
