I like the stewmac ferrules but they need a 4mm diameter mounting hole, plus the surface area on top of the body, it’s getting pretty squashed. I did find some steel capillary tubing on eBay in various diameters. Thanks for the ideas though folks.

I am jealous of his workshop though.

Yeah, I'd have been aiming a bit higher with all that at my disposal.
I might not have achieved anything, but I'd have been aiming higher!

Pickups work. It has a three way switch wired;
Single coil - Single coil - Humbucker.
Down. - Middle. - Up.
Metal tubing has arrived in the mail. Next job will be turning them into ferrules.
Playing around with the steel tubing looks promising for the top ferrules. When I get a bit of time I’ll cut to size, clean up and install into the front of the Kirar. I just might hold off until I have a plan for the ball end of the strings. What do people usually do at the counter sunk ball end? We’ve had suggestions of route out a hole and insert a piece of hardwood or metal. I’m thinking I could route out an area, layer of rosewood veneer to sit the ball end on, 2 x layer of maple veneer for the ball end to be sunk into. I have plenty of veneer scraps and the maple would be the best colour match I’ve got.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.
One finished Kirar complete with steel tube string ferrules. Thanks for the ideas everyone. When the strings start to hold their tune I’ll post a video for a laugh. I think the owner should be happy with the end result (I am).
