    Hello from Western Australia

Hi guys, thinking about buying a TL1 and giving it a go. I think I’m going to paint mine a surf green. Any tips that can be given would be appreciated.
I’ve seen so many kits on line I wasn’t sure what to go for but when I found out Pitbull was in WA it was a no brainer.
I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m looking forward to it.

Welcome IGIAG! We all were a first timers sometime. Best advice is to be patient, take your time, and the guitar will be what it will be. If you have to change your plans midway, that’s ok. A playable guitar is more important than a pretty one.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

As it happens I'm awaiting the arrival of my 3rd Pitbull build, a TL-1R.
My approach will be the same as previous.
Get the kit put together to the point where it plays well up and down.
Start with getting the neck straight and all the frets levelled.
Mark out the scale length to locate correct bridge position.

Install all the hardware and get it all working.

Only then I'd consider breaking out the surf green.

(I already did my squier that colour once so I'll go a different route this time)

    cheers, Mark.
