Heh, yeah it’s definitely not the only offset Tele style guitar out there and not as obviously unique as the Deluxester, but next to more fendery guitars it’s actually pretty different. Next one will have the same 2 humbucker layout as the Deluxester, just for simplicity’s sake. It’ll keep a similar pick guard shape, but I have changed it a bit now.
Comparison with the JMA-1 kit shape
Woltz, I’ll be in touch

Well after a bit of a hiatus I'm starting to ramp up to another scratch build. In my break from building I've been doing a fair bit of work on the house. One fairly big job was rebuilding the front steps which were rotten and only just holding onto the front of the house. Out of the 7 old treads there were 4 that were clearly hardwood and in reasonable nick. So I stashed them away for future use as guitar building materials. Also during this time my band acquired a new drummer, who turns out to be quite a handy fellow, that happens to have a thicknesser and jointer/planer. So I'm trading him some work on his guitars for some dressing. Here is the first body blank candidate. I'm pretty sure it's stringybark or 'white mahogany' the same as the first deluxester. I've been wanting to use some recycled timber in my builds so this is a good start.
Still not sure which I will build, the standard or offset shape, but I can start collecting some bits and go from there.
Build 1 - Shoegazer MK1 JMA-1
Build 2 - The Relliecaster TL-1
Build 3 - The Black Cherry SG AG-1
Build 4 - The Sonicaster TL-1ish
Build 5 - The Steampunker Bass YB-4
Build 6 - The Howling Gowing ST-1

Glued these together today. Prob not the best setup but looks like it's working fine.
Still not sure if I want to do an offset or og shape with this.

Did you use biscuits or dowels when gluing together? I ask because I have been offered some 200 year old house timbers (no idea what species of wood but probably oak) and I will need to put 3 pieces together when I do my first scratch body

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
No I didn't use any dowels, the edges are nicely dressed so I don't think it'll be an issue.
