Can you just move back the rod toward the heel a touch looks like a few mm wouldnt be drastic

Tony
.....that's actually a really good idea. I'll have to glue in a little 'stop' at the other end, but nothing undoable.
Glad I stopped messing with it this afternoon, thanks man.

Hey Phil, don't mean to derail this thread but I just saw your thicknessing jigs. Pretty cool. Any chance you could throw up some pics of them and how they work when you have a moment? And how the router works in etc.
Hmmm, yeah that's not a bad take.
I am leaning toward just doing a full aluminium one.. it's just the combo with the chrome I'm not too sure about. I have that on the Shoegazer, and it works because its kind of a punk looking guitar with all the stickers etc, not so sure on this one.
I'll just keep thinking about it for now, I'm still not settled on a colour either so input welcomed.
Moved the truss rod back a bit as per vh2580's suggestion. Sometimes its hard to see the forest for the trees, such an obvious fix once he said it.
All glued up
Going to have to make a run to the Big Green Shed today, workshop supplies are getting low, so I'll have a look at some finish ideas there.

Fretboard trimmed on the table router. Glad I'm done with routers for a bit, they are awesome, but a little scary....
Starting to look like a guitar. Got my work cut out for me radiusing. I deliberately left it a bit thick to make it easier to work with during glueing and assembly. I may come to curse that decision.
Started sealing up the edges of the MDF with CA as well (which what those darker areas are).
I need to work out how I'm going to attach the neck now. I stupidly forgot to order some ferrules with my last spending spree.. so might just go with a normal back plate... not sure.
Plenty of sanding to do while I think about it anyway.
Coming together at a reasonable pace this one. I can certainly see being able to do a couple at a time once I have finalised my workflow and templates. Dying to get on and try some things like a carved top and binding as options as well as some different finishes.

Certainly making good progress there Sonic.
I like that you're doing a reverse control plate. That's my preference on any tele-style control setup.
Making the world a better place; one guitar at a time...
Cheers, bit more progress this arvo.
Sealed with CA.
marker holes - messed up the 12th a little and 5th is just a tiny fraction out, but I can live with it. The boo boo on the 12th isn't full depth so most of it will sand out and I got a better alignment the 2nd time.
Side dots are like on a fender jazz, using the join to align them seems to help.
Blacked 'guide coat'
Progress, some of my less than stellar routing work visible, but it'll all sand out fine.
Side dots in
Sides trimmed and tops in

Cheers man, yeah a lot of the 'life' things that would normally slow me down are not happening at the moment. The whole reason I started this one was I was bored.
I'm fairly happy with it. Some things are better than the first one, some aren't but I'm definitely getting the hang of the order of operations. I'm not super happy with the transition down to the head stock where the truss rod access is. I wasn't especially happy with it on the other one either so maybe the next one I'll get it right. It still plays really nicely, just looks awkward. I'm also going to make a jig for the fret markers to get them perfectly straight. It won't be noticeable with strings on, but I'll know. The 12th and 21st are not as good as I'd like... but oh well.
All in all I can see it being viable to make a guitar in a week, not including the finishing and assembly, so essentially to 'Kit' stage.
Frets are basically in, a few got tapped in more after this pic. Nearly onto the fun bit of the neck carve....
