Uh oh. Have I accidentally poked the bear? Does Frankie hate Sea foam green? Would he compromise with surf green? How can you not like a green guitar? My mind is racing.... lol

Ha hah. Yeah Frankie is the resident SFG hater, but it's all in good fun.
Cheers re shoulder, it's just old age, I did it gardening, then just as it was getting better I decided it'd be a good idea to show my 13 year old I can still put him on his butt when push comes to shove. He went down, but I suffered the lasting injuries lol.

Body template, nowhere near as good as laser cutting, but it'll do I think. Extra bit poking out the top of the neck pocket is to help me see if I can do a nicer transition from body to neck and may not remain after shaping.. will see how it goes.

I think you might need to reboot dude.
Possibly the first full arse-written post on the forum.
Jeez you guys are heartless, he's plainly drowning!

Little bit more progress and a slight change of plans. I dug out this bit of laminated Oak which I have used for a lot of different purposes over the last couple of years. Evidence of a number of previous builds, like being used to hold brass in place for carving on the Steampunker. I'm going to laminate a bit of 12mm craftwood to it like a cap and use it for a body blank. Not very high brow materials, but it should work fine for this.. and its free. The flying V build is kind of similar using craft wood and pine and it's absolutely fine over a year since its completion.
Hopefully I get some decent progress on it over Easter, my motivation has been pretty low and generally speaking the old mental health isn't great at the moment. I'm a bit of a shut in at the best of times, but I've gotten used to being able to go to gigs, D&D and band practice every week and all of those activities are canned atm. Well we are trying D&D over skype, but it's not really the same. Coupled with the two school aged kids being stuck at home and my ICU nurse wife peaking out over the whole situation... it's not been a good creative environment. And through it all my normal day job is still going, so I'm not even getting a respite from that grind.. sigh.
Anyway.. some pics. At least this place offers some respite.
The damage is kinda cool, but everything exposed will be filled and painted.
Need more clamps.. but it looks like I've gotten away with this OK.
Marked up for routing. Not really worrying about making templates first, just going to do this the long way. If I ever get some kind of normalcy back I will have another run at setting up for doing repeatable multiple builds. I'm actually liking the look of this shape, maybe I'll focus on doing a bunch of these... we will see.
